KirraMail is a very powerful and flexible distribution, incorporating a full featured email and webserver,
the same as any business, corporation or ISP would use, It has all the features you would expect,
web-based access to emails (secure mail downloads through HTTPS and TLS), anti-virus, spam detection,
administration tools, website.

The original idea behind KirraMail is to have a fully operational mail server within minutes,
to integrate seamlessly into your current network while not touching any current operating systems.
The DvD was made with both the linux hobbyist/tech and Teachers/students/tutors in mind.
Allowing anyone who needs an email server to test, run, learn and hopefully obtain a better
understanding of an email system without a lot of the hardship that goes with setting one up from scratch.

Overall I hope that people find the DvD useful, and I can contribute something back
to the Linux community who have done so much for myself.

Using KirraMail is pretty straight forward, like any live Distro, everything is already setup and ready to go. To help with the testing environment, I have already built-in a test domain (  test.domain ), and a user ( test ). Just a note, the test user is not a user
on the unix system, only a user for the virutal domain, test.domain, this user cannot log into the unix system itself.

Ok, if everything went well for the bootup, you should now be looking at the KDE desktop environment. Here you can see I have some links to some of the useful applications you will need to administer and use your KirraMail system. Also a dialog screen will start up asking you to set the ipaddress of the server, here you can either choose static, or dhcp server assigned, this script can also be run from the command line by typing:

setip

Using Squirrelmail icon from the desktop, the browser will open at the squirrelmail
login screen, then enter:

Username:  test@test.domain
Password:   password

Now you have logged in, you will have a couple of email there waiting for you.

I would highly recommend using a download manager, I'm currently hosting my site on a home network, with a slow ADSL connections, so it may take quit a while to download.

Also the forum is now open, it's free to register, hope to see you there soon

Thanks from the Kirramail Team
